The first sight of W. Reginald Bray (1879-1939) was one of an ordinary Londoner peacefully living out his time as an accountant in the green suburb of Forest Hill. But, peeking into his study, his special passion for sending curious items through the mail was revealed. In 1898, Bray read the Post Office Guide, learning the smallest one could post was a bee and the largest, an elephant. Fascinated, he started testing the limits - he eventually POSTED HIMSELF, thus earning him the title of "The Human Letter." He sent cards to tricky addresses, some of them puzzles, others to tricky destinations, testing the postman's intelligence. Over time, Bray shifted from mailing eccentric pieces to collecting autographs, which he achieved by requesting them via post.
